Asbestos concerns in Philly
2/4/2010 by ascott under Asbestos & MesotheliomaIn Philadelphia, workers and a resident in a Philadelphia Housing Authority unit may have all handled asbestos without even realizing it at first.
According to this article, the workers removed the substance when dealing with pipes in the building. The resident later moved pipes that the workers left, which may have been covered in asbestos.
Handling asbestos without proper safety equipment and training is very dangerous. Asbestos has been linked to numerous health problems, including mesothelioma, a rare but often deadly form of cancer. Even brief exposure to asbestos can be harmful.
If you or a loved one has handled asbestos or been exposed to asbestos, you should contact a personal injury lawyer with experience in asbestos or mesothelioma lawsuits.
