It is important to be careful when driving and watch out for others who may be distracted or intoxicated. Automobile accidents kill thousands in the United States each year and are a leading cause of personal injury lawsuits.
The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) has recently appealed to states to ban all non-emergency cell phone use. The agency believes that texting or talking on cell phones distracts drivers which can cause accidents, so if you must use your cell phone while on the road, pull over.
Additionally, many intoxicated drivers may be on the read this time of year. When going to holiday parties, be sure to either have a designated driver and limit your drinking.
