Zelnorm Recall & Novartis Profit

Despite Zelnorm recall, manufacturer, Novartis, has a profit jump: (Source: IHT) – Despite the recall of Zelnorm for IBS-C (irritable bowel syndrome with constipation), Novartis still experienced a profit boost. Net income unexpectedly climbed 11 percent to $2.17 billion from a restated $1.95 billion. Net revenue at the Switzerland-based company, grew 18 percent to $9.8 billion. A larger sales force gave a boost to Diovan, a heart medication.
