Inhalers Like Serevent Can Double COPD Death Rate
A new study by scientists at Cornell and Stanford Universities states that beta-agonist inhalers such as Serevent and Advair can more than double the risk of death by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - the very condition they exist to prevent and alleviate.
The study noted the alarming fact that although anticholinergic inhalers are more effective in reining in the symptoms of COPD, they are prescribed only five percent of the time.
